Resolve is more than readiness.
It’s the measure of what you’re willing to lose… to protect what matters most.
So… where do you stand?
That question must be answered in the calm, not when things go hot, crazy, and stupid.
By then, it’s too late to start trying to find yourself.
Some of us think we know.
Some are admittedly clueless.
And that’s okay—for now.
But either one—left unresolved—can become a disaster later.
Not everyone in the fight is fighting for the same reason—or the same outcome.
Some only “get wit' it” if there’s something in it for them.
Some will stand with you—but only until it gets too real for ‘em.
And then…
Some will bleed for you. Die for you.
Because their love carries more weight than their fear.
Let’s break it down—level by level.
⚔️ Levels of Fighter’s Resolve
(From lowest to highest resolve)
Level 0: Carnal Nature to Flee
Avoids all confrontation.
Motivation: Fear, self-preservation
Loyalty: None
Risk Tolerance: Zero
Will: Will not fight, even if others are in danger
Example: Runs from conflict, abandons responsibility
Level 1: Opportunistic Fighter
Will fight if there’s something in it for them.
Motivation: Gain, greed, ego
Loyalty: Self-interest only
Risk Tolerance: Low
Will: Will engage when reward outweighs risk
Example: Mercenary, manipulator, partner in peace, deserter in war
Level 2: Defensive Fighter (Forced Engagement)
Will fight only when threatened or cornered.
Motivation: Survival, pride, moral pressure
Loyalty: To self or moral principle
Risk Tolerance: Low to medium
Will: Fights only under pressure, not from love or calling
Example: Untrained defender; may watch the fight but won’t step into it unless absolutely forced to.
Level 3: Protective but Limited Fighter
Will fight to protect—but not at the cost of their life.
Motivation: Duty, care, relational loyalty
Loyalty: Moderate
Risk Tolerance: Medium
Will: Will help in danger, but retreats at mortal risk
Example:
“I’ve got your back... just not all the way into the fire.”
“I’ll go far for you—but I still have a limit.”
Level 4.5: Loyal Combatant
Will fight under serious threat and pressure.
Motivation: Trust, camaraderie, shared vision
Loyalty: Strong
Risk Tolerance: High
Will: Will stand through adversity but may falter at death’s door
Example: Faithful soldier, covenant brother/sister, seasoned protector
“I’m with you in the fight… as far as I can go.”
“I’ll stand through fire—but I’m not sure I can walk into the grave with you.”
Level 5: Covenant Warrior
Will fight to the death to protect you.
Motivation: Love, covenant, divine assignment
Loyalty: Unshakable
Risk Tolerance: Absolute
Will: Chooses your life over their own
Example:
Shepherd lays down life for sheep (John 10:11)
Bodyguard mindset
“Your life is worth more than mine.”
“I’m not just willing—I’m ready to lay it all down for you.”
Level 6: Preemptive Watchman
Sees the threat before it strikes—fights to prevent harm.
Motivation: Vigilance, foresight, burden to protect
Loyalty: To you, even in your absence
Risk Tolerance: High—lives in readiness
Will: Engages spiritually, mentally, and physically before the attack hits
Example:
Nehemiah’s wall builders (Nehemiah 4:17–18)
Spiritual guardian
“I won’t wait for the threat to arrive—I’m already positioned to confront it.”
“Protection isn’t reaction. It’s preparation already in motion.”
Level 7: Martyr-Warrior
Will fight and die not just for people, but for the truth itself.
Motivation: The glory of God, eternal truth
Loyalty: To Christ and eternal mission
Risk Tolerance: Sees death as gain
Will: Dies willingly for righteousness and others’ salvation
Example:
Stephen (Acts 7), Jesus the Lamb, Revelation saints
“This life isn’t the end. I don’t just fight for survival—I fight for glory.”
“To die in the truth is better than to live in compromise.”
⚔️ From a Phulasso Perspective: What I See
In reflecting over my personal life and career, I see my own progression through most—if not all—of these levels.
And it isn’t just in personal growth either.
It’s evidence of the Father’s shaping—
A tactical and spiritual defining and refinement process,
designed to prepare me to guard, guide, and give of myself at the highest levels of spiritual and tactical responsibility.
⚔️ The Progression of Resolve Is the Path of Sanctification
I pray you’re not just seeing levels of fighters.
I hope you’re seeing levels of love—
how your loyalty to others, to truth, and to the Lord has been tested and matured.
The “sanctification,” the process of grinding away what the Lord doesn’t want in us, shaping what must grow, and setting us apart to reflect Christ—holy, surrendered, and dangerous to darkness.
And even more—
You’re seeing the danger of staying at a lower level
when you’re called much higher.
Tactical Awareness: Knowing Where Others—and You—Stand
From a Phulasso standpoint, these levels help us:
Discern the people in our circle (who’s with us in words… and who’s with us in blood)
Train others accordingly (we don’t give Level 7 assignments to Level 2 minds and hearts)
Check our own posture—not just where we were, but where we are now
Because in crisis, past resolve won’t save us—present resolve will.
Our Training Objective:
Become a Covenant Warrior with Watchman Vision and Martyr Willingness
Our Phulasso calling isn’t to settle at Level 4.5 (Loyal Companion).
It’s to:
Live daily as a Level 5 Covenant Warrior
Prepare like a Level 6 Watchman
And love like a Level 7 Martyr-Warrior
Crucified with Christ — Where Real Protection Begins
Listen—it’s not that we’re eager to die.
We can’t protect anyone if we’re already gone, right?
But here’s the truth:
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
To live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)
The real power?
You're already dead in Christ.
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” — Galatians 2:20
That’s where real protection begins.
Not in fear.
Not in self-preservation.
But in a life already surrendered.
BOOM 💥 (Mic dropped.)
Tactical Application: How to Leverage Our Knowledge
a. Self-Correct
Ask: “Where am I now—not just where have I been, or what I’ve done, my experience, my testimony?”
Use the fight levels as a spiritual mirror and readiness diagnostic
If you hesitate to say, “Your life over mine,” then that’s where the Holy Spirit wants to work with you
b. Leadership Strategy
Assign roles based on what level of resolve someone has demonstrated
Teach others that it’s okay to start at Level 1—but it’s not okay to stay there
Don’t forget where you came from. Build others the way you were built—through fire, truth, and love
c. Spiritual Warfare Readiness
New levels attract new devils
Better to be recognized by the enemy as a threat than dismissed as a target
Don’t be a punk hell can jack over without a fight
Level 7: Where the Pipe Hitters Live
There ain’t nothin’ romantic about Level 7.
It’s brutal.
That’s where the heavy pipe hitters live—
Holy.
Dangerous.
In love with the Lord and His mission to love on people.
They’ve been through the worst hell was allowed to throw at them—
and they’re still standing.
Still surrendered.
Still saying:
“If You need someone, Lord… send me.”
This is resurrection-grounded resolve.
And Satan fears it most.
What to See in Your Life
See:
The faithfulness of God, walking you through stages you didn’t even recognize at the time
The pivot from fleshly loyalty to holy resolve
The call to live today fully yielded—as protector, servant, and son/daughter
The pattern of God’s defining, then refining—not just by what you do, but who you’re becoming
You’re not just moving up the ladder.
You’re being forged into the image of Christ—
the Ultimate Martyr-Warrior,
Covenant Shepherd,
and Preemptive Watchman, all in One.
Let’s keep leveling up.
Let’s keep laying it down.
Let’s stay resolved to protect. ⚔️
Grace and Peace,
Thurston ❤️💪🏿❤️
