The Year 2024: Time to Press the Reset Button
In honor of the 2023 holiday season, we wish you to be Merry Christians for a Phulasso New Year
Greetings,
Like most people, I am planning to take the opportunity to use the beginning of our new calendar year to press the reset button to re-orient myself so that I am more aligned with how the Lord desires me to proceed with the remainder of my life at the strategic level.
The end of the holiday season prompts many people to set resolutions. Many of those resolutions involve habits, health and personal goals. How many times have you pledged to lose weight, exercise more, consume less alcohol or eat better?
How often do you give that same attention to your relationship with the Lord?
Phulasso provides a framework as to how to protect yourself, serve the Lord and evolve as a warrior priest… Let’s examine the mindset required to make that happen.
SAFETY AND SECURITY ASPECTS ORIENTATION
In the interest of our safety & security, our orientation represents our ability to assess where we are in order to position ourselves spiritually, mentally and physically so that we can respond effectively to prevent or manage critical incidents.
Our orientation (and our ability to adjust that orientation) requires consistent monitoring and vigilance on our part to quickly make the corrections needed to be in the "right position at the right time" for the best outcome.
Using the all powers approach of Phulasso capitalizes on our ability to be mindful of our spiritual and mental orientation at all times. That’s how it works.
This mindfulness is often the deciding factor that determines our capability to overcome and recover from critical incidents.
Orientation ensures that we're in the moment and have a clear sense of mission and purpose as we manage threatening or harmful events.
Orientation also enables us to maintain a clear and tactically functional mental and spiritual compass, eliminating any slack in the decision-making process and response time to deal with matters quickly and decisively.
SPIRITUAL ORIENTATION
Spiritual orientation refers to our level of submission and sensitivity to the counsel of the Holy Spirit and the mind of Christ for direction. They provide our consistent alignment on where we should be, and what we should be doing at any given time, especially during an emergency.
MENTAL ORIENTATION
Mental orientation refers to our ability to consistently operate under the authority of Scripture and our intuition, which is the result of our experience, training, and consideration of the totality of the circumstances.
This creates a powerful mental mindset that commands its way through any situation to know the best response to keep people safe and to promote recovery.
Let's take a look at the stages of a crisis event to get an idea of how our orientation capabilities factor into how we manage them:
PRE-CRISIS (Before)
Preparedness
Readiness
PERI-CRISIS (During)
Assessment
Orientation
Response
POST-CRISIS (After)
Recovery
Orientation is an important aspect of personal and spiritual goal-setting. Practicing your orientation and mindset in all things will make you stronger in your decision-making during a crisis event.
And perhaps you are making the traditional pledges for this time of year. Just make sure you also reconnect and reset your relationship with the Lord.
I know the last quarter of this year has brought more change than I anticipated— and some of those changes both challenged and strengthened my connection to the Lord and allowed me to, once again, test the principles of Phulasso in my own life.
2024 will mark some significant changes for me and my family.
I will continue my medical journey and recovery from surgery in the latest battle for my eyesight, and, as happened several weeks after my eye surgery, a severely broken leg. My wife and I are retiring from full-time employment and I will use this time, even while not able to be out in the community, to develop the ministry of Phulasso. These last few months have strengthened my conviction that I need to use wisely what time I have left in this broken world to support as many people (no matter their beliefs) as possible in their goals to remain safe: spiritually, mentally and physically.
So, people of all faiths and beliefs, you are not only welcome here but cherished. The tools of Phulasso are based in my study of the Bible and my lifelong experience in emergency services, training, and personal protection, and are an extension of my Christianity. I invite all who practice a life of love and goodness to join me for this journey of how to live in peace and without fear in this violent world.
We have the tools.
Grace, Love, and Peace to you all for 2024!
Training so that our worst day is not our last.
